Park Pals
Have some fun in the park with our Parks and
Recreation staff. A variety of activities and games
will be set up for your enjoyment. From soccer
to kickball to tag, each day will be a new activity.
Schedule is subject to change without notice. Call
the Outdoor Recreation office at 702-267-5707 for
up-to-date information on location and inclement
weather cancellations. Check out cityofhenderson.
com to see where Parks Pals will be held every
week.
ARCHERY
Archery programs listed here are hosted at
Whitney Mesa Recreation Area archery range
(behind the recreation center).
Birthday Parties at the Range
Have a special birthday party experience at
Whitney Mesa archery range. The party package
includes two hours of range time and planned
activities with one of our archery range masters,
plus a picnic shelter. Guests can learn how to
shoot and sharpen their skills. A $60 rental rate
is due at the time of your reservation request
covers the first six shooters, range, equipment,
picnic shelter, and range master. Each additional
participant is $10, due the Friday before your
reservation date. Reservations are available
on Fridays and Saturdays (excluding holidays).
Participants must be age 5 or older. To inquire
about day and time availability, call 702-267-5707.
Archery Open Range
The range master facilitates safe archery target
shooting through coordinated directions to groups
wishing to practice their skills. Bring your own
equipment (no broad tip arrows allowed) or rent
it from us for $10 per hour or $20 per day. Each
participant or a parent/guardian must register and
sign a waiver at WRRC before they are allowed
to shoot. Upon your first visit, you must attend an
orientation on range rules and safety. Cost is per
day. The archery range is closed on major holidays.

Beginning Archery

BSA Archery Merit Badge
Explore archery while earning your merit badge.
Our staff guides you through completion of the
merit badge requirements. You must be willing
to read the merit badge booklet and do the
required preparatory work before the workshop.

CANINE
Unless otherwise noted, canine programs are held
at the Bark Park at Heritage Park.
Agility 1.0
This beginner class offers a positive step-by-step
introduction to the obstacles found in the
exhilarating dog sport of agility. Dogs learn how to
run through tunnels, single jump, double jump, tire
jump, and weave poles. Dogs attend every class.
Proof of vaccines is required. Price is per dog.

Agility 2.0+
Take your agility to the next level. Pet guardians
learn how to read, navigate and run their dogs
through various agility courses. Teams learn how
to work together through the use of body language,
including turns and hand cues, to navigate
increasingly complicated obstacle courses. Agility
