Suicide Prevention
Spread Hope
Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. In fact, suicide is often the result of an untreated mental health condition. This is why it is important to proactively take care of your mental health with the same attention you give to your physical health.
In the United States, approximately 1 in 5 adults experience a mental health condition such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. These conditions can profoundly impact a person’s thoughts, emotions, behaviors, daily activities, relationships and can impact suicidal thoughts.
The City's Crisis Response Team (CRT) staffed by licensed mental health clinicians, navigators and certified peer recovery support specialists to help individuals in substance use or mental health involved crises. Our CRT meets residents at the time of crisis to help assess, stabilize and connect to treatment and resources in the community, as well as to provide supportive services to friends and family.
We’re also proud to support the Hope Squad Program, a national initiative that trains students to recognize warning signs of suicide, offer peer support, and seek help from adults.
