Redevelopment Project
Project Overview
The City of Henderson Redevelopment Agency (RDA)acquired the former Fiesta Henderson site (including the existing parking garage) with redevelopment aspirations and redevelopment funds. Nevada Revised Statutes provides strict guidelines for the use of Redevelopment Agency funds, clearly distinguishing the priority and uses of those funds from the City’s general fund. Redevelopment Agency funds are required to be used for the removal of economic, social, and physical blight within the geographic boundaries of the Redevelopment Areas, to remove barriers that may otherwise prevent economic investment.
Current Status
The Fiesta Henderson site is a priority development opportunity for the City of Henderson Redevelopment Agency (RDA), given its strategic location as a gateway to Downtown Henderson. The Redevelopment Agency remains focused on advancing the next phase of development for the site and is currently reviewing developer proposals for the site. A developer selection is expected by early November.
The RDA is excited about the next phase and remains committed to achieving a successful development that aligns with the community’s vision, as outlined in public outreach meetings. This opportunity at this strategically located site, will have a positive impact and will attract investment into one of Henderson’s most mature neighborhoods.
Timeline and Additional Project Information
The City initially focused on community outreach and feedback and engaged with residents and businesses through surveys, open houses, emails, social media, newsletters and tabling at events.
The results of these community outreach efforts were used to create a vision to make this site an attraction for the Henderson community, Southern Nevada area and the Mountain West Region.
