Henderson Preschool and Early Childhood Education Center
Expanding Access to High-Quality Learning
We are constructing a new preschool and early childhood education center as part of our Quality Education strategic priority.
The facility will expand access to high-quality preschool education for three-five-year-olds in the community. Currently, only 40% of three- and four-year-olds in Henderson are enrolled in a preschool program, and this project aims to increase that number to support the most crucial point in a child's development.
Facility Details
The preschool and early childhood education center will be constructed at 122 Scarhill Avenue, near Grand Cadence and Galleria Drive, close to the Eastside and Downtown redevelopment areas. It is planned to include:
| This will be the second preschool for the City of Henderson, with the other located at the Valley View Recreation Center. Additionally, the facility will create opportunities for college students enrolled in early childhood education degree programs to earn teaching experience. |
|
| The estimated cost for the preschool and early education center is $17.6 million and estimated for completion in 2027. This project are fully funded by the Redevelopment Agency, which sets aside budget to strengthen educational resources in redevelopment areas. |
