The Intergovernmental Relations Office reports directly to the City Manager.
The Intergovernmental Relations Division identifies and assists in the implementation of beneficial community partnerships, public policies and organizational efforts. It also lobbies for the city at the state legislature, and is responsible for the federal, state and local legislative activities.
The nature of local government requires cooperation and, at times, competition with special interest and other governmental entities for the best use of limited resources. Without proper representation at all levels of government, the City may experience reductions in overall revenues and increases in mandated services without funding sources that will limit the City’s ability to maintain current service levels and quality of life.
Responsibilities also include facilitating and maintaining ongoing interaction between the City of Henderson and elected local, state, and federal officials and their respective staff members.
