School Closure and Cancellation of Safekey
For the health and safety of our community, on March 15, 2020, The Clark County School District announced closure of all schools and cancellation of the Safekey and Teen Scene programs due do the COVID-19 coronavirus. All Henderson Safekey and Teen Scene sites are closed until further notice. For more information and updates on COVID-19, click here.
Participants of Safekey and Teen Scene will automatically receive refunds through through April 3. No need for to request a refund. Cash or check refunds will be processed over a two-week period. Credit card refunds will begin to be processed starting March 16, 2020, and should post to your account within a few business days after being processed.
Safekey follows the Clark County School District calendar and is offered 6:45am-7am to 8:45am-9am, and from school dismissal to 6pm. Program start and end times vary based on school bell times. Contact the Youth Enrichment office in advance for more information or to confirm start/end times. School bell times are set by the Clark County School District and are subject to change at the district’s discretion.
When school isn't in session (school vacations, etc.), kids can take part in Kids Zone. Visit the Kids Zone page to learn more or ask at your Safekey site.
Please note that there is a $10 annual registration charge per student.
Safekey/Teen Scene Pricing
Safekey is available at a flat rate* per child of $5 for the before-school program and $9 for the after-school program. Teen Scene is available at a flat rate of $9 for the after-school program ($5 for the morning program, which is available at Del Webb and White only). A sibling discount (after the first child) of 10 percent is available for children from the same immediate family. The city reserves the right to request supporting documentation.
Safekey offers extended stay for parents who are unable to pick up their children by 6pm. It is available from 6pm-6:30pm for $10 per week, per child.

*With exception to Burkholder Middle School, Brown Junior High School, Hinman Elementary School and Robert Taylor Elementary School, which are on a different rate schedule.
Year-round program (follows Clark County School District calendar)
Monday-Friday before school 6:45am/7am to 8:45am/9am, and after school from dismissal to 6pm.
Registration is ongoing at all Safekey sites during Safekey hours (Monday-Friday before school and from dismissal time until 6pm), however, payments are not accepted at Safekey/Teen Scene sites. Payments may be made online at cityofhenderson.com/register
or in person at any recreation center during regular business hours.
The daily rate can be paid in advance or on the day your child attends the program prior to your child attending the program.
Extended stay payment is due in full on or before the Wednesday prior to each week the child will be attending. Payments may be made in person at any recreation center during regular business hours or online by 11:59pm the Wednesday prior to each week the child will be attending.
You may pay by check, credit card, money order or cash. Please make checks and money orders payable to the City of Henderson. At your Safekey/Teen Scene site, present your receipt to site staff for verification of payment and enrollment. Without a receipt your child will be unable to attend the program.
All payments must be made prior to your child attending the program.
A charge will be assessed for late pickups at $10 for every 10 minutes, beginning at closing. For additional information, call the Safekey office at 702-267-4100. Drop-ins are welcome (sorry, no hourly rates). Daily rates are effective after closing on Wednesday. Safekey/Teen Scene families are eligible for multiple child discount rates.
