Youth Programs

2020 Summer Camps

We're ready to provide sensational summer camp experiences for children ages 3-15. Our programs fill up very quickly so early registration is encouraged. Registration begins March 24. 

Kampfire Kids (Ages 3-5)

Each day is a new adventure in this state-licensed camp. Activities include arts and crafts, interactive games, special events, music, and story time.

Kids Zone (Ages 5.5-12)

An all-day program designed to entertain and enrich Henderson youth with a variety of supervised activities. 

Summer Fun (Grades K-8)

A seasonal no cost drop-in program for youth held within their neighborhoods. Activities include
arts and crafts, games, sports, and special events.

On the Edge (Ages 9-12)

Designed especially for tweens, this program is all about awesome activities, building friendships and opportunities to grow.

Teen Ventures (Ages 12-15)

Preteens and teens develop self-confidence and positive decision-making skills while forging new friendships. The twist on this program is that participants stay mobile throughout the week. They have an opportunity to learn about themselves while exploring their community and participating in fun activities.

Teen Zone (ages 12-15)

Daily and weekly activities include fitness and health, arts and crafts, swimming, games, field trips, and special events. 

Teens-N-Training (Ages 14 & 15)

This junior leader program trains teens to become future recreation leaders and to provide assistance to our summer programs. TNT encourages self-confidence and develops communication and leaderships skills.




 

Year-round programs

 

Kids Zone (grades K-5)

Kids Zone is an all-day program designed to entertain and enrich Henderson youth when school is not in session. The program is held weekdays 7am-6pm. See Henderson Happenings for dates and locations.

Safekey (through grade 5)

Safekey is a before- and after-school recreational enrichment program offered at all Henderson elementary schools. This fun-filled program focuses on crafts, games, cooking and special activities as an alternative while parents work. 

Teen Scene

This after-school program is for children in grades 6-8. Teen Scene provides a USDA snack and features arts and crafts, cooking, sports, field trips, and social events.

 

Preschool


ABC ETC.

ABC ETC. is a state-licensed preschool specially designed for children 3-5 years of age and held at Valley View Recreation Center

Little Learners

Little Learners is a state-licensed, full-day preschool specially designed for children 4-5 years of age and held at  Valley View Recreation Center

Kampfire Kids

Kampfire Kids is a state-licensed camp specially designed for children ages 3-5 years and held at Valley View Recreation Center. Program is held 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday and is available during the summer and winter break.

Teen Ventures (Ages 12-15, summer only)

Teen Ventures is for 12- to-15-year-old teens looking for excitement and new friends this summer. The program offers field trips and leadership activities tailored to meet teens’ needs and interests.

Teens-N-Training (Ages 12-15, summer only)

The Teens-N-Training junior leader program trains teens, ages 14 and 15, to become recreation leaders and to provide assistance with our summer programs. The program encourages self-confidence and develops communication and leadership skills.
