2025: Mike Duran, Par 3 Landscape Management, Kirk Neimand

Mike Duran of Studio Drom was honored for his exceptional work on turf conversion projects, including efforts with the Green Valley Ranch Community Association. Studio Drom consistently delivers clear, water-smart landscape designs tailored to our desert climate, while preserving trees through thoughtful irrigation planning.

Par 3 Landscape Management earned recognition for removing 10 million square feet of turf across Southern Nevada, saving more than 700 million gallons of water over the past five years. A certified Water Smart Landscaper, the company actively educates customers about the Nonfunctional Grass Law and demonstrates an ongoing commitment to conservation.

Kirk Niemand, Former Parks and Recreation Superintendent, was recognized for his leadership and collaboration in implementing conversions to comply with the Nonfunctional Grass Law at City parks. Kirk developed a proactive plan to prepare City parks for the transition and worked closely with City departments, fostering teamwork, trust and shared solutions that strengthened the City’s conservation efforts.

2024: Oasis Nursing and Rehab of Green Valley

As the 2024 recipient, Oasis Nursing and Rehab of Green Valley achieved the following:

• Replaced 125,881 square feet of turf and replaced it with water-efficient desert landscaping
• Updated and modernized their outdated irrigation infrastructure
• Created a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents and staff
• Transformed a water-intensive site into a model of sustainable practices that aligns with H2One’s call to action for all community members to become conservation champions

2023: Sun City Anthem Community Association

As the 2023 recipient, Sun City Anthem Community Association achieved the following:

• Removed 109,300 square feet of useless grass
• Saved over 150 million gallons of water since conservation projects began in 2018
• Installed 40 smart water controllers

As the inaugural winner, Anthem Country Club achieved the following:

• Removed 362,611 square feet of useless grass, saving 19,943,605 gallons of water annually
• Replaced 1,795 square feet of grass with artificial turf, saving 131,035 gallons of water annually
• Converted 1,793,590 square feet of grass with water-smart grass, saving 39,458,980 gallons of water annually

• This award celebrates and acknowledges turf conversion efforts that have totaled 59,533,620 gallons of water savings annually.
