In the upcoming 2026 Primary Election, Henderson residents will decide whether to renew the existing 12-cent property tax that funds our parks, recreation programs and community services.

This is not a new tax. Residents already pay it today. The average homeowner spends $120/year currently and this would stay the same.

This Is Not a New Tax

Henderson residents already pay it today.

  • A VOTE YES: Your 12 cents stays in Henderson to fund local parks and recreation.

  • A VOTE NO: More of your money leaves Henderson—impacting the future of our Parks and Recreation services and amenities.

 A YES Vote Means

Your “yes” vote renews funding that covers about 40% of the Parks and Recreation Department’s budget, supporting:

  • Clean, well-maintained parks, trails and sports fields

  • Pools, community centers and recreation programs

  • Youth and preschool programs, childcare and senior services

  • Safe, active neighborhoods and strong property values

A NO Vote Means

Voting "no" redirects more of your dollars out of Henderson. That potentially means:

  • Reduction in park/trail maintenance

  • Cutbacks on recreation programs and events

  • Delayed equipment repair/replacement

  • Decreased property values

  • Increased safety risks

  • Decline in economic and community vitality

  • Decline in City services
