Hometown Heroes

image of hometown hero banner

The City of Henderson is now accepting applications for its annual Hometown Heroes banner program, honoring active duty servicemembers from Henderson, now at no cost to applicants or their families.

Space is limited. Applications will be accepted through September 8.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Raiders Foundation, commemorative banners recognizing local military heroes will be displayed along Water Street and Green Valley Parkway, ensuring those who serve are celebrated by the community.

Henderson residents, businesses or organizations may nominate an honoree. The honoree must be a Henderson resident or the immediate family member of a Henderson resident, and must be an active duty member in good standing. There is a limit of one banner per serviceperson and priority is given to first-time applicants. There will be a maximum of 60 approved banners.

Application Requirements

Full-color, portrait-style photograph of honoree:

  • Formal military dress uniform only
  • 5" x 7" photograph minimum, (returned upon request after banner installation), or
  • Digital image in jpeg format, minimum 300 dpi, provided via email (preferred), or drop off in person with the application at the lower level information desk at City Hall, 240 S. Water Street
  • Download an application. Applications accepted through September 8, 2026.

A special thank you to the Raiders Foundation
for sponsoring this program!
