The Department of Government Relations encompasses mayor and council support, civic and community engagement, and intergovernmental relations. The Department serves as the principal linkage between the City and other governmental and non-governmental agencies at the local, regional, state and national levels. Government Relations identifies and assists in the implementation of beneficial community partnerships, public policies, and organizational efforts. Additionally, Government Relations provides administrative support to the Mayor and City Council and facilitates opportunities for residents and stakeholders to engage with city leaders encouraging residents to participate in government, exchange ideas with leadership, and employ two-way communication to address the issues facing the community.
