Drone Safety
The City of Henderson promotes the responsible, courteous and lawful operation of drones within our community for both recreational and commercial purposes.
In compliance with local and federal regulations, a Drone Waiver must be completed prior to operating a drone near critical infrastructure within Henderson city limits. Please submit the waiver at least seven (7) days before your anticipated flight to allow sufficient time for processing.
To legally operate a drone under the FAA’s Small UAS Rule (Part 107), you need to earn a Remote Pilot Certificate. This certification confirms your knowledge of the rules, safety protocols and operational procedures required for responsible drone flight.
For more information, visit Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) | Federal Aviation Administration and Become a Certificated Remote Pilot | Federal Aviation Administration.
