Sustainability & Climate Division

The Sustainability & Climate Division coordinates on a regional and departmental level on sustainability and climate action related priorities, goals, and implementation. The division spearheads and expands upon the City’s Climate Response Initiative as part of the City's Healthy, Livable, Sustainable City Strategic Plan priority. The Division of Sustainability and Climate collaborates across departments to secure funding related to clean energy, transportation electrification, climate pollution reduction, and healthier environments.

Through this division, the City of Henderson has been able to advocate for resource-efficient land use practices, expanded transit-oriented development, compact development, and environmental stewardship. The City of Henderson has achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Cities Gold Certification in recognition of our commitment and achievements in sustainability. LEED certification demonstrates a city's commitment to sustainability, human health and economic prosperity.
