Professional Biography:

Lisa Corrado was sworn in as Assistant City Manager for the City of Henderson in September 2024. With a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility, community growth, and maintaining a high quality of life, Lisa is known for her leadership in land use, economic development, public health, homelessness, substance use prevention, attainable housing and behavioral health. Her extensive experience in regional planning has helped her foster a thriving, responsible City that values both opportunity and tradition.

Since joining the City of Henderson in 2006, Lisa has earned a reputation as a dedicated public servant. With nearly two decades of experience in community and stakeholder engagement, Lisa has overseen several key areas including Current and Long-Range Planning, Building and Fire Safety, Development Services, Neighborhood Services, and the Office of Public Response. Lisa’s leadership has helped secure millions in federal and state funding for behavioral health, homeless outreach and prevention, public health and neighborhood revitalization.

Lisa has expanded capacity and understanding of social service needs in Henderson and spearheaded the Don’t Risk It All With Fentanyl Campaign in 2023. After becoming an expert in opioid settlement funds, she has worked to improve services for people with substance use disorders and spearheaded two Fentanyl Awareness Summits to date. Her passion for responding to alarming data on drug seizure statistics and overdose deaths has driven her to become an advocate for substance use prevention, harm reduction and improvements to mental and behavioral health treatment in Southern Nevada. Lisa was integral in revamping Henderson’s response to homelessness, updating ordinances to prohibit camping or sleeping in public right of way, creating and securing funding for the Henderson Homelessness Response Team, and co-authored and secured a Department of Justice grant for a Mobile Crisis Intervention Team, designed to align with the 988-crisis services system and garnered additional federal earmark funds to expand.

Lisa’s experience also includes roles such as Interim City Clerk, Director and Assistant Director of Community Development and Services, Redevelopment Project Manager, and Principal Planner, Intergovernmental Affairs Specialist as well as serving as the Southern Nevada Strong Project Manager, overseeing the completion of the valley’s first federally recognized Regional Plan. Earlier in her career, she worked as an economic development consultant for a boutique firm in Seattle, where she advised municipalities and other public agencies on economic analysis, workforce development and City planning.

Lisa is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and hold degrees in Hispanic Languages & Literature and Political Science, along with a Master of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Recently, she earned a Professional Certificate in Personal Leadership from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
