Angela Summers was sworn in as Assistant City Manager in March 2025.

Since joining the City in 2008, Angela's expertise in the areas of leadership, communication, management, and customer service has provided new opportunities for staff development and growth within the Parks and Recreation Department.

Her proven track record of success resulted in being named Director of Parks and Recreation in 2024, after serving as Assistant Director since 2020. Angela helps lead a $50M parks and recreation operation, which includes 74 parks, 180+ miles of trails, six recreation centers and two senior centers, 200+ full-time staff and 800-1,000 part-time staff.

In 2003, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from California State University, Sacramento and is a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP).
