Introductory Class for Women in the Fire Service

The Henderson Fire Department will be offering a three-day class for women interested in a career as a firefighter. Women in the Fire Service will be offered November 1-3, 2019. The class is three days, Friday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m., all day Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Class will be held all three days at the Henderson Fire Training Center, 401 Parkson Rd. There is no cost to attend the class.

Women in the Fire Service is designed to help would-be female firefighters learn more about the job, and how to prepare physically and mentally for the hiring process and a career as a firefighter. The class will consist of a combination of classroom discussion, physical agility exercises and hands-on experience with firefighting equipment.

Class attendees must be women at least 18 years old. Attendees must be able to attend all three days. The 2019 Women in the Fire Service seminar registration has been filled. To be placed on the waiting list, complete the form below.
