PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE COVID-19-RELATED RESTRICTIONS ON PUBLIC GATHERINGS AT THIS TIME, THERE WILL BE NO IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE AT PLANNING COMMISSION MEETINGS.
These meetings will be conducted via web-based video and teleconferencing, unless the Governor terminates the directive restricting the maximum number of persons that may gather in groups. Please check www.cityofhenderson.com

The Planning Commission of the City of Henderson was created by ordinance on September 9, 1969. The Commission consists of seven members, one appointed by each Councilperson and three appointed by the Mayor. Their terms run with the Councilperson who appointed them; each time a Councilperson is elected or re-elected, a Commissioner is appointed/re-appointed.
There are also three ex-officio members who serve in an advisory capacity only and are not entitled to vote: a member of the City Council, the City Engineer, and City Attorney or their representative.

The Planning Commission holds regular monthly meetings, generally on the Thursday prior to the second regular City Council meeting. (See the Planning Commission Filing Schedule.) Meetings are held in the City Council Chambers, 240 Water Street, at 6:00 p.m. and vary in length depending on the number of agenda items, the complexity of the applications, and the number of speakers during public hearings.
Public Comment or comments relating to Planning Commission may be submitted by Public Comment Card before 5:30 p.m. the day before the scheduled meeting at Planning Commission Comment Card or through Contact Henderson. Comments can also be submitted via email to (Planning Commission) firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the meeting and throughout the live meeting. Be sure to include your name, zip code, the agenda item number on which you are providing your comment, along with your comment. Please also indicate whether you want your email comment to be read on the record during the live meeting. or added to the backup materials for record. If not specified, comments will be added to the backup materials for the record.
