The City Clerk's office is responsible for preparing all Resolutions and Ordinances adopted by the City Council.
Ordinances are law set forth by the City Council, and unless adopted as an emergency, proposed ordinances must be read in title at one meeting; published; and referred to the next regularly scheduled Council meeting for consideration and discussion at a Committee meeting. The Council may then send the proposed ordinance to their Regular meeting (held immediately following the Committee meeting) for adoption. After being read in title, proposed ordinances must be adopted within 30 days. Once adopted, ordinances become effective upon publication, unless otherwise set forth.
For information on ordinances not listed here, please contact the City Clerk's office at (702) 267-1400.
