The City of Henderson offers Safekey, a before-
and after-school recreational enrichment program
for children in grades K-5, at all Henderson Clark
County School District (CCSD) elementary schools.
Participants must be at least 5 years old and attending
kindergarten/elementary school to take part. The
program provides crafts, games, special activities,
a snack, and homework time for children while their
Elementary school sites: Bartlett, Cox, Dooley,
Galloway, Gibson, Hinman, Kesterson, Lamping,
Mack, McCaw, McDoniel, Morrow, Newton, Roberts,
Sewell, Smalley, Stevens, Taylor (Glen), Taylor (Robert),
Thorpe, Treem, Twitchell, Vanderburg, Wallin, Walker,
Sixth through eighth graders enjoy this enriching afterschool
program (a before-school program is offered
only at select sites) with their peers. Provided for
working parents to ensure preteens’ and teens’ safety,
the program features arts and crafts, sports, field trips,
special events, homework time, and a snack.
Junior high/middle before-school sites: Del Webb and
Junior high/middle after-school sites: Brown,
Burkholder, Del Webb, Greenspun, Mannion, Miller,
Safekey and Teen Scene follow the CCSD calendar.
Registration is available online and at all of our
recreation centers, but is not available at program
sites. Families are eligible for sibling discounts, and
financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
Milk is provided by way of the USDA Special Milk
Program through a grant from the Nevada Department
of Education. In accordance with federal law and U.S.
Department of Agriculture policy, these programs are
prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race,
color, natural origin, sex, age, or disability.
Initial registration paperwork must be completed
prior to participating. An annual registration charge
of $10 is placed on your City of Henderson account
once paperwork has been processed by the Youth
Enrichment office. This charge is non-refundable and
non-transferable and is assessed at the beginning of
each school year.
Payments can be made online until 11:59 p.m. or at any
recreation center/indoor pool during regular business
Verify days registered, as days selected are locked in
and cannot be credited or moved. Once payment has
been received, credits and refunds are not issued for
days your child is unable to attend.
Children must be from the same immediate family to
receive the sibling discount. We reserve the right to
request supporting documentation. Hinman, R. Taylor,
Brown, and Burkholder sites have a different pricing

Teen Scene Half-Days
CCSD conducts semi-annual testing of all middle
school and junior high students. During these
designated testing days, Teen Scene coincides with
early dismissal times and is available for $18 per day.
Additional programming and excursions are included
on these days.
Teen Scene Monthly Excursions
Monthly excursions are offered to enrolled Teen Scene
participants during program hours for an additional
cost, which varies depending on the destination. Use
excursion activity codes for those days. Dates and
departure times may vary from site to site. Visit your

Kids Zone follows the CCSD break calendar and is an
all-day program designed to entertain and enrich youth
with a variety of supervised interactive activities when
school is not in session due to holidays and school
district unassigned days. The program is held from 7:00
a.m. to 6:00 p.m. weekdays at select recreation centers
and is open to youth who are enrolled in or currently
attending kindergarten (minimum age 5) of the current
school district year through age 12. Daily and weekly
activities may include fitness and health, arts and
crafts, drama, music, swimming, games, field trips, and
special events. Early registration is recommended as
space fills very quickly.

All registration and participation is subject to space
availability. Parents can register in advance for any
week in the with a 10 percent non-refundable/nontransferable
deposit per child per week. Deposits are
not accepted for drop-in days. For complete details,

After your deposit is made, the balance is due on or
before the Wednesday prior to each week the child
is scheduled to participate. Payments can be made
