Henderson, Nev. – On March 30, 2020, at about 1:55p.m., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the 800 block of North Major Avenue in reference to a reported shooting incident.
Officers arrived on scene to discover a 37-year-old male who suffered from apparent gunshot wounds. The male was transported to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition.
Preliminary information indicated the victim was shot outside of an apartment and the suspect(s) fled the scene into an adjacent neighborhood; however, at that time, the suspect(s) were not located.
Henderson Detectives later identified 33-year-old Kirk Bills as the primary suspect.
In April 2020, an arrest warrant was submitted and approved for Bill’s arrest for the charges of 2 (two) counts of Attempt Murder, one (1) count of Discharge Gun into Occupied Structure, and one (1) count of Possess Gun by Prohibited Person.
On May 4, Bills was taken into custody in Minnesota, in collaboration with their Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT), for the Attempt Murder warrant, where he remains pending his extradition to Nevada.
His booking photo is attached (courtesy of Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department).
“The Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) is a Federal Bureau of Investigation led, multi-jurisdictional fugitive task force.”
As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
