Henderson Police Target Impaired Drivers

September 02, 2020

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson Police Department will begin an enhanced traffic enforcement program targeting impaired drivers beginning September 3rd and running through September 13th, to include the Labor Day holiday weekend.

As part of Joining Forces, Henderson Police will work to make our roadways safer and bring greater awareness to the importance of safe and sober driving. The goal is to save lives by increasing public awareness about the dangers of making poor choices while driving. During this time, Henderson Police will aim to reduce tragedies caused by people driving while impaired.

Henderson Police always urge the public to use a designated sober driver, taxi, or a ride-sharing company to avoid the potentially devastating impacts of drunk or impaired driving.

The Henderson Police Department received $201,000 in federal funding for the extra enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2020 Joining Forces program.

Nevada’s goal is to have zero fatalities on our roads. As a community, we need to work together to reach this goal and that includes to always drive sober. Henderson Police aims to increase awareness for traffic safety and change risky behavior, thereby preventing accidents and saving lives.
