Henderson Police Investigating Fatal Traffic Collision

September 28, 2020

Henderson, Nev. – On September 27, 2020 at approximately 4:50 p.m., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to northbound Eastern Avenue at Wigwam Parkway in reference to a serious injury collision.

Preliminary investigation revealed a tan 2000 Nissan sedan was traveling northbound on Eastern Avenue at a high rate of speed when an orange 2017 Hyundai SUV turned left into the path of the Nissan.

The driver of the Nissan, a 26-year-old male, was transported to University Medical Trauma Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.  His passenger, a 22-year-old female, was transported to Sunrise Trauma Center in critical condition.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 76-year-old female, was transported to Sunrise Trauma Center also in critical condition.

Speed is considered to be the primary cause of the collision.  Impairment is unknown at this time.

Northbound Eastern Avenue was closed for approximately four hours while Traffic Officers conducted the investigation.

The name of the driver killed in the collision will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

The crash is being investigated as the eighth accident-related fatality for 2020.
