Henderson Police Conclude Pedestrian Safety Enforcement Event

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department, along with other Southern Nevada law enforcement agencies, concluded its 6th campaign under the current Joining Forces Program.

During the enforcement initiative that ran from February 28th through March 15th, officers stopped a combination of motorists and pedestrians totaling 441 stops.

Of the 441 stops completed, Traffic Officers issued 184 speeding citations, 92 pedestrian safety violation citations, 16 no insurance citations, and 96 other various violation citations. Additionally, 89 motorists were issued a warning, in lieu of a citation.

The Henderson Police Department received $201,000 in federal funding for the extra enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2020 Joining Forces program.  The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
