Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Targeting Impaired Drivers

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department concluded its 16th and final enhanced enforcement campaign under the 2020 Joining Forces Program.

During the enforcement initiative that ran from September 3rd through September 13th, Henderson Police stopped 453 motorists resulting in 260 citations.

Of the 453 traffic stops, Traffic Officers completed 11 arrest for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and assisted patrol with 14 DUI investigations.  157 drivers were cited for speeding, 25 cited for distracted driving (such as cell phone use), 25 cited for red light violations, 11 cited for no insurance, as well as several other citations issued for other traffic related offenses.

The Henderson Police Department received $201,000 in federal funding for the enhanced enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2020 Joining Forces program.  The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways.
