Henderson Police Held Press Conference on E-Bike Back-to-School Safety

Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero and CCSD Police Department joined Henderson Police in emphasizing the importance of e-bike safety.

HENDERSON, Nev. (August 10, 2026) — The Henderson Police Department, joined by Mayor Michelle Romero and the Clark County School District Police Department, held a joint Back-to-School Safety press conference to educate parents, caregivers, and the community about the dangers of illegal and unsafe e-bikes and e-motorcycles. The event also highlighted HPD’s continued enforcement under the City’s initiative “Ride Smart. Stay Safe.” campaign, which targets the illegal and unsafe use of these devices on Henderson streets and school routes.

The press conference underscored the partnership between the HPD, the City of Henderson and the Clark County School District Police Department to keep students safe during morning and afternoon commutes as the new school year begins. Leaders shared the latest enforcement numbers and outlined what families, students, and the community can expect as enforcement continues throughout the school year.

Enforcement numbers shared at the press conference:

  • 221 total stops conducted since 2025
  • 122 citations issued for unsafe or illegal riding behaviors
  • 52 devices towed
  • 25 citations issued to parents/guardians of minor riders
  • 65 warnings issued
HPD will continue enforcement through the first week of school as students return to campus and traffic patterns shift.
