HPD Focuses on Safety Through Dirt Bike Enforcement

Over the months of May and June, HPD traffic division officers — through routine patrol — issued 18 citations and towed 13 prohibited dirt bikes and electric dirt bikes citywide. What began as a routine patrol effort quickly became a clear message to the community: prohibited devices will not be tolerated on Henderson streets.

Prohibited dirt bikes and electric dirt bikes have contributed to serious and fatal crashes in communities across the region. These devices are often operated at unsafe speeds, in unauthorized areas, and by riders — many of them minors — who are not equipped to handle the risks involved. Every enforcement contact was also an opportunity to educate riders, remove dangerous devices from our streets, and prevent serious or fatal crashes.
