Orientation Night Offers a First Look at the HPD Explorers Program — Registration Required

HENDERSON, Nev. (June 8, 2026) – The City of Henderson Police Department is calling on the next generation of law enforcement. Teens and young adults with an interest in public safety are encouraged to register for the HPD Explorers Program Orientation Night will take place at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, at Central Police Station. The evening will offer an introduction to the program, giving prospective Explorers the opportunity to learn what the program is about.

The Henderson Police Explorer Program is a volunteer educational program designed for young adults aged 16 to 21, with the goal of offering insight into the criminal justice system through training and practical experiences. Some of the topics covered in the program include patrol procedures, crime scene investigation, arrest control and firearms safety.

Explorers meet once a week, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Central Police Station located at 300 S. Green Valley Parkway for training sessions in law enforcement activities.

The Henderson Police Department is continuing to recruit prospective Explorers. Interested candidates can find a complete list of requirements and apply at joinhpd.com.
