Middle school students from the Battle Born Kids youth program recently completed Camp 911, a weeklong experience that provided an inside look at local emergency services.

Hosted by the City of Henderson Police Department in partnership with the City of Henderson Fire Department, Camp 911 introduced students to the day-to-day operations of police, fire and dispatch services. Throughout the week, participants took part in hands-on activities and demonstrations, including CPR instruction, SWAT and robotics demonstrations, and vehicle extraction exercises.

In addition to learning about emergency response operations, students explored topics such as leadership, responsible decision-making and community involvement. The program is designed to help young people better understand the role first responders play in serving and protecting the community.

The week concluded with a graduation ceremony attended by students and their families. Participants received certificates recognizing their successful completion of the program.
