Each Workshop Combines Classroom Instruction With Practical, On-Bike Exercises Led by Certified Instructors

HENDERSON, Nev. (April 27, 2026) — As part of the “Ride Smart. Stay Safe.”  e-bike safety campaign, the City of Henderson has initiated youth skills workshops focused on e-bike, bicycle and e-scooter safety.

These free programs are designed for students in grades 6-12 to strengthen their riding skills while promoting awareness of safe practices.

Media Event

Media are invited to attend a youth skills workshop at:

  • Del Webb Middle School
  • Tuesday, April 28 at 2:30 p.m.

(Interviews and e-bike course to start at 3pm)

Interviews will be available with Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero and Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition to highlight the importance of these workshops and e-bike safety.

Each workshop combines classroom instruction with practical, on-bike exercises led by certified instructors in partnership with CCSD and Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition. Participants learn essential traffic laws, safety rules and riding techniques designed to build confidence, improve decision-making and help students navigate the community safely.

All attendees receive free safety equipment, including helmets and bike lights, ensuring students have the gear they need to ride safely.

Participating Schools

  • Jack & Terry Mannion Middle School
  • Del Webb Middle School
  • Hank Greenspun Junior High School
  • Bob Miller Middle School
“Our goal is to empower Henderson’s youth with the skills and knowledge to ride safely,” said Mayor Romero. “By combining education with hands-on practice and providing proper safety equipment, we hope to educate our youth, help prevent injuries and address safety concerns.”

Funding for the workshops is provided in whole by the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety. To learn more about e-bike and scooter safety visit, cityofhenderson.com.
