Henderson Fire Department Reports 2025 Achievements in Presentation to Council

Fire Chief Vivier Details Improved Response Times Despite Increase in Call Volume

HENDERSON, Nev. (April 21, 2026) — The Henderson Fire Department presented a public safety update to Mayor and Council at today’s City Council meeting, highlighting 2025 public safety achievements and year-end numbers.

HFD responded to 44,064 calls for service in 2025, a 1.1% increase from the previous year. HFD has reduced fire response times by 23 seconds and emergency medical service (EMS) response times by 11 seconds.

The Public Safety Presentation Delivered by Chief Scott Vivier Also Highlighted:

  • 98% satisfaction rate from those who received HFD services
  • 29 new firefighters hired since 2025
  • 2 new fire stations opened, which made a measurable impact on service delivery
  • Only fire department in Nevada to be awarded Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS), department's 10th consecutive award. 
“It is an honor to serve as Fire Chief, leading this incredible team of men and women whose hard work and dedication drive every achievement,” said Chief Vivier. “Thanks to their commitment and the support of Mayor and Council, we continue to uphold the highest standards while delivering exceptional service to our residents.”

  • Investments in New Fleet: replacement and addition of new vehicles and apparatus
  • Explorer Program: preparing the next generation of firefighters
