
Two Fire Captains Were Honored for Assisting in 15 Cardiac Saves Throughout Their Careers
HENDERSON, Nev. (April 16, 2026) – The Henderson Fire Department recognized the people and partnerships behind a year of exceptional service at its annual Employee Recognition and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday. More than 130 employees, medical partners and residents were recognized for their ongoing contributions to public safety and community service.
From lifesaving action to outstanding customer service and leadership, the awards presented include:
- Firefighter of the Year Award: Recognizing exemplary performance and service to the department and community
- Citizen Lifesaving Award: Honoring individuals who assisted in a lifesaving effort prior to the arrival of fire crews
- Customer Service Award: Recognizing employees who go above and beyond to help someone in need
- Visionary Award: Highlighting efforts that improve operations, including new programs and innovative ideas
- Unit Citations Award: Recognizing crews for outstanding performance during calls for service
- Phoenix Award: Awarded to personnel involved in a cardiac arrest save resulting in a positive neurological outcome. Two fire captains were honored for assisting in 15 cardiac saves throughout their careers
