Activities Under Grant Include Helmet Giveaways and Youth Skills Workshops

HENDERSON, Nev. (April 8, 2026) —

The City of Henderson has received grant funding from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety through its Vulnerable Road User Program to expand community education and awareness surrounding e-bike and e-scooter safety.

The funding will support the City’s Ride Smart. Stay Safe. campaign and new outreach efforts aimed at helping residents, particularly youth and families, understand safe riding practices and the difference between legal e-bikes and illegal e-motorcycles.

Activities supported by the grant include:

  • Helmet giveaways to encourage safe riding

  • Youth e-bike and e-scooter skills workshops focused on safety and rules of the road

  • Public service announcement banners at local parks and schools

  • Social media safety campaigns to educate residents on e-bike and e-scooter laws and responsible riding

The expanded campaign follows recent updates to Henderson’s e-bike and e-scooter ordinances aimed at improving safety and clarifying which electric devices are permitted on City streets, parks and trails.

E-device use has increased in recent years, particularly among students and teens. Through Ride Smart. Stay Safe., the City is working to ensure riders and their guardians understand local rules, wear helmets and ride responsibly.
