City of Henderson to Recognize Fair Housing Month With Resource Activities in April

Henderson Partners With the Silver State Fair Housing Council to Inform Residents About Essential Housing Information

HENDERSON, Nev. (April 1, 2026) — In recognition of Fair Housing Month, the City of Henderson, in partnership with the Silver State Fair Housing Council (SSFHC), is hosting events to raise awareness about fair housing rights.

The City of Henderson is committed to creating a welcoming, thriving and inclusive community that supports fair housing for all of its residents. Each April, the City partners with SSFHC to commemorate the landmark 1968 Fair Housing Act and bring awareness of fair housing in today’s marketplace.

Throughout April, the City will support the following activities:

Fair Housing Month Regional Community Resource Fair | April 11 | 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

 The Fair Housing Month Community Resource Fair is a free event open to the public. The City of Henderson, Las Vegas, and Clark County are sponsors of this event, which will include a variety of agencies providing information and resources to ensure that community members are qualified for, and have equal access to, the housing they seek. Attendees will learn about their Fair housing rights and find additional resources. The event will be held at the East Las Vegas Community Center, Ballroom A, 250 N. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89101.


Heritage Park Senior Center Facility Resource Table & Outreach | April 28 | 9 a.m. - noon

Silver State Fair Housing Council will host an informational resource table on behalf of the City to better engage and inform Henderson residents about their fair housing rights. The public will have an opportunity to speak with trained staff regarding fair housing and learn how to identify and report suspected discrimination. Informational materials will be available.  Heritage Park Senior Center is located at 300 S. Racetrack Rd., NV 89015


Informational Presentation at Redevelopment Agency Advisory Commission (Public Meeting) | April 28 | 4 p.m.

Fernanda Villasenor, Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Silver State Fair Housing Council, will provide an informational presentation on fair housing rights and raise awareness of National Fair Housing Month at Henderson City Hall. Informational materials will be available. This meeting is posted in accordance with Open Meeting Law and will be open to the public and livestreamed to the City website.
