Post Date:11/25/2025 12:51 PM

Parks & Recreation has been reaccredited by the National Recreation and Park Association

HENDERSON, Nev. (Nov. 25, 2025) – The City of Henderson is proud to announce that its Parks and Recreation Department has once again received national accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) and National Recreation and Park Association (NPRA), an accolade that recognizes the department for excellence in operation and outstanding service.

This marks the fourth time the City has been reaccredited, making it the only accredited agency in Nevada and one of just 222 CAPRA-accredited agencies in the nation.

Through compliance with 37 fundamental and 31 non-fundamental standards of excellence, CAPRA accreditation assures policy makers, department staff, and the public that an accredited park and recreation agency has been independently evaluated against established benchmarks as delivering a high level of quality and service to the community. The City demonstrated 100 percent compliance with all 68 standards.

The City of Henderson offers over 11,000 classes, workshops and events across its 76 parks, eight recreation centers and six aquatics facilities that keep residents of all ages and abilities active, healthy and connected.
