Applications Can Be Submitted Now Through Sept. 4

HENDERSON, Nev. (August 14, 2025) – The City of Henderson is calling on artists to submit applications for unique public art opportunities at two popular destinations within the community.

Whitney Mesa BMX Track Sculpture Project

The City is seeking sculpture artists and teams with prior experience to design and fabricate a large-scale outdoor installation using over 40 upcycled bicycles at the Whitney Mesa BMX Track. Finalists will receive a limited honorarium to develop a proposal on how they will transform these bicycles into a dynamic sculpture celebrating the spirit and energy of the BMX community.

Large Mural Project in the Water Street District

The City is seeking muralists and artist teams to apply for a large-scale painted mural opportunity at the Oceanside Apartments, which is located at one of the main entrances into the historic Water Street District. Artists are encouraged to submit proposals that reflect the past, present and future of downtown Henderson.

To support the thoughtful development of this mural, the selected artist or artist team will be provided with a fully furnished, on-site apartment for the duration of the project.

The City is committed to supporting public art, as it furthers its Healthy, Livable, Sustainable City strategic priority and stated mission of improving the quality of life for residents. Applications for both projects are open now through Sept 4.
