HENDERSON, NV - (August 5, 2025) On August 4, 2025, at approximately 3:07 p.m., the Henderson Police Department patrol officers responded to a business in the 1000 block of Galleria Drive in reference to staff reporting that there was a victim of domestic violence and human trafficking located at their facility.
Staff also advised that the alleged suspect in this incident was on scene. Area patrol officers contacted the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Jose Alvarez. As officers escorted Alvarez out of the building, he fled on foot with officers in pursuit.
Alvarez ran into an adjacent parking lot, where he approached an occupied vehicle. He entered the driver’s seat and reversed the vehicle, striking a woman. The woman jumped into the rear cargo area as Alvarez fled the scene with the vehicle’s occupants still inside, including an elderly female and three minor children.
Officers quickly located the vehicle, disabled it by ramming it and safely brought the pursuit to an end. Alvarez was taken into custody without further incident.
Alvarez, all four occupants, and one officer were transported by Henderson Fire Department paramedics to various area hospitals for minor non-life-threatening injuries.
Following medical clearance, Alvarez was transported to the Henderson Detention Center and booked for the following charges:
One count of Resist Public Officer
One count of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle
One count of Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle
One count of Battery with a Deadly Weapon
Three counts of Kidnapping of a Minor 1st Degree
Two counts of Kidnapping 1st Degree
One count of Robbery
One count of Coercion with Force or Threat of Force
Domestic Battery 1st Offense
