Program’s Second-Ever Cohort Will Gain Valuable Tools To Build Thriving and Resilient Businesses

HENDERSON, Nev. (June 23, 2025) – The City of Henderson, in partnership with the College of Southern Nevada Small Business & Entrepreneurship Development Division (CSN-SBED), is now accepting applications for its second cohort for the Henderson Small Business Assistance Program.

Facilitated by CSN-SBED and NV Grow staff, Henderson Small Business Assistance Program is a no-cost, competitive six-month program designed to help local business owners grow stronger, more resilient companies. Business owners selected for the program will be paired with an NV Grow counselor to create a Resiliency Work Plan, a personalized roadmap to address key business challenges and identify milestones for growth.

“Supporting small businesses is a key component of our City’s economic vitality,” said Director of Economic Development and Tourism Jared Smith. “We saw such meaningful results with our first cohort, and we look forward to providing the same opportunities for even more small businesses to thrive right here in Henderson.”

Business owners will have bi-weekly, in-person and virtual workshops led by subject matter experts, covering areas like marketing, GIS data, operations, finance, and customer strategy. These sessions are designed to complement the business owner's Resiliency Work Plan and provide practical tools they can immediately implement.

“In addition to expert-led training and valuable exposure through the Henderson Chamber’s ‘Ready, Set, Expo,’ the program offers $5,000 grants for services and a one-year Chamber membership to help participating businesses accelerate their growth,” said Eric Garner, Director of Small Business & Entrepreneurship Development for College of Southern Nevada. “These resources—combined with guidance from NV Grow counselors—are designed to give entrepreneurs the tools they need to thrive long after the program ends.”
