Henderson Police Investigate Shooting Incident

Henderson, Nev. – (June 13, 2024) On June 12th, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the 500 block of Marks Street in reference to a shooting incident that had just taken place.
Multiple 9-1-1 calls were received advising a shooting occurred between two males in the parking lot of the shopping center.
Preliminarily, detectives determined a 38-year-old male approached a vehicle with a firearm in his hand in a confrontational manner. A second male from within this vehicle discharged his firearm at the 38-year-old, striking him. After being shot, the 38-year-old male discharged multiple rounds from his firearm as the confronted subject vehicle drove away.
Officers and paramedics attempted lifesaving measures; however, the male succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
There were no other injuries reported other than to the decedent.
The male who initially discharged his firearm remained on scene and is cooperative with the investigation.
Detectives are investigating this homicide as possibly being self-defense and no arrests were made.
As this is an open and ongoing investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.
The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.
This is being investigated as the fifth homicide for the City of Henderson for 2024.
