Henderson, Nev. – (April 24, 2024) On April 23rd, 2024, at approximately 10:15am, the City of Henderson Police Department responded to the 2000 block of Silverton Drive in reference to assisting the Clark County School District Police Department with a truancy issue involving a student.
Officers arrived on scene to check the welfare of the student when it was discovered an 11-year-old was being contained within a large metal enclosure and the residence was found to have inhospitable living conditions.
Henderson Detectives identified the suspects as 46-year-old Misty Scanlan and 41-year-old Jeffery Scanlan.
They were taken into custody and booked into the Henderson Detention Center each for 1 count Child Abuse/Neglect. Their booking photo is attached.
Child Protective Services responded to assist.
As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
