"Dog Parks"

The City of Henderson has a variety of dog parks where dogs can run free and socialize. We are in the process of planning several more permanent dog parks throughout the city.

The Acacia, Boulder Creek, Heritage Bark Park, Hidden Falls, and O’Callaghan dog parks will be closed for a limited time to conduct seasonal turf maintenance. Please visit Facility, Pool, Park & Trail Closures for more information.

Better Cities for Pets Better Cities for Pets

We’re excited to announce that Henderson has again been recognized as a pet-friendly city by the Better Cities For Pets™ program from Mars Petcare. Certified since 2019, a key strength for Henderson is our number of dog parks and our pet-friendly events.

Keep Your Pets Close – It’s the Law!

We will be conducting saturation patrols in City parks to remind pet owners to keep pets leashed. We’ll also be checking for required rabies vaccinations, licensing, sterilization and other park rules. Thanks for helping keep our parks safe and enjoyable for everyone!

It is against the law to let your animal:

  • Roam freely in the neighborhood
  • Go onto someone else’s property
  • Walk around loose on streets, alleys, parks or other public places
"Leash Law"

Exception: Pets inside fenced dog park areas.

Penalties: You can receive fines or even a criminal citation if your dog is off leash.
