The City of Henderson offers a variety of recreation centers featuring fitness areas, multipurpose rooms and community programs for all ages. Residents can swim, work out and play with a Membership or Daily Pass, or register for one of our many classes. Reservations are not required.

Whitney Ranch Recreation CenterWhitney Ranch Recreation Center/Aquatic Complex is located one block from three elementary schools and one middle school, making it a focal point and a safe place for many neighborhood preteens and teens.

Staff members are motivated, energetic and remember what it's like to be a kid. They help to mentor and guide young patrons through a variety of life-enriching programs designed to teach respect, ethics and discipline and to help kids grow into responsible adults.

The center's many programs and state-of-the-art aquatic complex also make it a welcome destination for families any time of year.

 The gymnasium at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center is closed to the public on the following dates:

  • March 17-21, 2025 (facility rental)
  • April 19, 2025 (annual spring carnival)
  • March 16-20, 2026 (facility rental)

Special Programs

Girls United

This group meets during the CCSD school year and follows the CCSD calendar year. The mission is to inspire and empower adolescent girls to become positive active citizens of change in themselves as well as their community. Participants will have access to trusting and caring mentors, build powerful life skills through team projects, have access to college and career guidance and much, much more. Participants must be registered for the Whitney Hangout to participate. 
Ages 11+ • 3:00pm-4:00pm on Thursdays • August-May
