Electric Avenue, The 80’s MTV Experience

A musical journey spanning both sides of 1985

What started out as a one-off show has turned into a decade-long run, playing 100+ live concerts each year across the US and abroad. An Electric Avenue show is a high-energy space that reminds people of a time when they came home from school, put a record on and listened with open ears and an open heart; conjuring first dates, first cars, prom nights, weekend movies and meeting friends at the mall.

If authenticity is your thing, Electric Avenue meticulously recreates every nuance and flavor of your favorite 80’s songs. Delving into their personal stash of vintage synthesizers and rare signal processors, an Electric Avenue show is a true labor of love. In fact, Electric Avenue’s sound is so close to that of the original artists that in 2019 Warner Music issued a cease-and-desist for using original artists' recordings on their social channels. After hearing the complete live recording of Electric Avenue’s performance, Warner Music issued an apology to the band.

Electric Avenue has sailed the high seas with the The Walking Dead Cast, Kid Rock, The Impractical Jokers, Joey Fatone and Pitbull. In 2019, the band was hand-picked and flown to Asbury Park, NJ to provide the soundtrack for the red carpet launch of the Bruce Springsteen, Gurinder Chadha, New Line Entertainment 80’s-centric film, "Blinded By The Light." They have had the privilege of being direct support for 80’s legend Pat Benatar, and have been joined on stage by, among others, members of Toto, Player, Talk Talk and Little River Band. As artists, the musicians in Electric Avenue have had a hand in the sale of over 15 million albums worldwide.

RULES & REGULATIONS FOR
CAR SHOW PARTICIPANTS AND ATTENDEES

• No personal vehicles of any kind that are not officially registered to participate in the car show, including skateboards, motorcycles, scooters, golf carts and Cushman carts/Rhinos.

• Riding bicycles, skateboards, hoverboards and scooters throughout the event area is prohibited. Please walk bikes/scooters and carry skateboards/hoverboards while on Water Street.

• Within the event grounds:  No unauthorized advertising, soliciting or vending is allowed during the event.  No signature collecting or survey taking.  No handing out leaflets, flyers or general literature (unless an authorized vendor/sponsor).  No sound amplifying devices, picket signs or disturbing event attendees. 

• Car Participant registration is for individuals and car clubs, not for advertising or business purposes.

• Attention: No car show entry is allowed to promote any political candidates on their vehicle. This car show is an entertainment event and a chance for all of us to take a break and enjoy each other’s company for a few hours. We share your passion, but let’s focus on what brings us together for an enjoyable time.

• No animals (unless ADA certified/required). Amenities for animals are not available and asphalt tends to be very hot.

• No bottles, glass containers or aluminum festival bottles.  All beverages must be in plastic container and purchased on-site.

• Children under age 16 are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

• All bags are subject to search.

• Prohibited Items include:  Outside alcohol, drugs/drug paraphernalia, knives, firearms, weapons, no smoking or vaping of any kind, items deemed disruptive, no drones.

• Please be respectful of Water Street District businesses and residents. Do not block their businesses/homes or sidewalk areas with canopy tents, seating, vehicles, etc. Please maintain your own trash and debris.

• No open cruising and no roaring engine. 

• All vehicles must travel in a northbound direction when entering/exiting event grounds. No burnouts within event area or when entering/exiting event.
  
  
• No early move-in, pre-parking, overnight parking, space setup or reserved space marking Thursday, October 1. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense and unauthorized vehicles will be asked to vacate the designated event area.
  
  
• All sales end at 9:30pm on Friday, October 2 and 6:30pm on Saturday, October 3.
  
  
• The event closes at 10pm on October 2, no vehicle departure after 11pm. Event closes at 7pm on October 3 at which time all vehicles are required to depart from the event grounds. Streets will open to through traffic at 9pm on October 3 at which time all vehicles are to be removed from Water Street or parked within a designated official parking spot/parking garage.
  
  
• NO EARLY CAR SHOW MOVE-OUT, Saturday, October 3.  All vehicles must remain in place until official end of show, 7pm. 

The event takes place all along Water Street and will impact some traffic flow. There are numerous parking options throughout the area.  Please check the Water Street District map before your visit.
