Maryna Krut in Concert

Join us for an unforgettable evening with internationally acclaimed Ukrainian singer, songwriter and bandura artist, Maryna Krut, whose captivating performances blend traditional Ukrainian folk music with contemporary influences. The bandura, a harp-like Ukrainian string instrument, adds a distinctive sound to Maryna's performances. You will not want to miss this unforgettable evening of world music.

Tickets $15

The Russian invasion of Ukraine transformed Maryna Krut from being a performer updating a beautiful tradition of music to being a witness testifying to people around the world about the devastating war in her homeland. These days, the 30-year-old musician leads a double life. From her temporary home in western Ukraine, she travels to the front lines of the war to perform for soldiers and travels abroad to perform, relating what she has seen.

At the center of Maryna’s music is the bandura, a Ukrainian string instrument that resembles a cross between a lute and a zither. Introduced to Ukraine’s traditional music as a child, she has since developed her own style by incorporating elements of jazz and other contemporary influences. She performs on the bandura both as a solo instrument and alongside her powerful vocals.

Maryna first gained a national following in Ukraine through appearances on the country’s versions of “The X Factor” and “The Voice,” as well as her participation in Eurovision. Today, she is reaching audiences around the world, using her music to share the culture, history and story of Ukraine.

The Water Street Amphitheater is an outdoor venue. All seats are general admission.
