Professional Biography:
Gerri Schroder was elected at large to the Henderson City Council in April 2007 and re-elected in April 2011, representing Ward I. Councilwoman Schroder serves with the mayor and fellow council members as the legislative branch of the Henderson community, responsible for setting policies and making decisions concerning many different aspects of local government. The City Council also approves the city’s budget.

Previously, Gerri served as a district representative for Congresswoman Shelley Berkley from March 2000 to April 2007. Her responsibilities included constituent services relating to the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs as well as outreach to the Asian communities. Between 1994 and 2007, Gerri voluntarily served on the city of Henderson Planning Commission and the Commemorative Beautification Commission.

As Councilwoman, Gerri represents the city on the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition and Workforce Connections, formerly known as the Southern Nevada Workforce Investment Board. She is also a member of the Henderson Development Association and the Henderson Redevelopment Agency.

In February 2008, Gerri was named the Elected Official of the Year by the Asian Chamber of Commerce. Gerri is a member of the Asian, Latin, Henderson, Las Vegas, Urban and Veterans Chambers of Commerce.

Gerri is active in civic affairs and currently serves as president of the S.A.F.E. House, Inc. Board of Directors, secretary of the Japan America Society of Nevada, and vice chair of the McCaw School of Mines. Additionally, she is a member of the Japanese American Citizens League and Organization of Chinese Americans.
