In Your Community
Sustainability doesn’t
just mean recycling and conserving water and energy; it also includes our
overall health as a community. Henderson has become known as a great place
to live and work because of the efforts made by our residents, local
businesses, and community organizations. Small contributions can make a big
difference when we all work together.
Volunteer
The City of Henderson sponsors programs and holds events throughout the
year, but we rely on the community to make these efforts successful.
Participate by volunteering for an organization or event that benefits the
community. A few
of our regular programs are:
Clean Up
Pet waste can spread
disease-causing bacteria and parasites to people and pets if they come in
contact with it. It can also be washed into storm drains, which has a negative
effect on water quality. It's important to clean up pet waste when you
take your pets out walking. Bring a bag with you when you walk your pets and
properly dispose of the waste in a trash receptacle.
