The new walking tour provides
an informative, rich and colorful account of the development of Henderson,
starting with its birth during the industrialization period to support World War
II efforts to the vibrant city it has become today. The first phase of the
Downtown Henderson Historical Walking Tour will launch Saturday, April 21, in
conjunction with the Henderson Heritage Parade & Festival in the Water Street
District. The tour will cover the first homes, schools, businesses, casinos and
more, and bring to life the people who made a difference in making the new city
a community. It will also reveal fun facts, such as how Water Street was named,
the major impact of Basic Magnesium Inc., and how a place that was meant to be a
temporary stay for company workers has grown into Nevada’s second largest city.

visit the front desk in the Henderson Convention
Center, 200 S. Water Street, and pick up the tour map. To access the tour from
