Redevelopment
The Redevelopment Agency wants your input! Community involvement is essential to determine what types of programs and projects are offered in redevelopment areas. Opportunities to participate include: leading a committee or beginning a leadership group on a topic that’s important to you, participating in a survey, or attending an event or public meeting. We are always looking for community feedback on proposed projects and ideas to bring residents and businesses of redevelopment areas together to rebuild their neighborhoods. To find out how you can get involved, please contact 702-267-1515.

Pittman and Valley View Redevelopment Outreach Events and
Survey Research: In an effort to determine neighborhood priorities and preferences, the
Redevelopment Agency held a Redevelopment Outreach Event and Survey in March
2009 in the Pittman neighborhood and in June 2009 in the Valley View
Neighborhood, both located in the Eastside Redevelopment Area, to assess
opportunities for improvements to the area. Based on your input, the Wells
Park Improvements project was born. (See above for more information). In
addition to the Wells Park project, young people participated in a design
competition for each neighborhood: What My Neighborhood Means To Me,
an activity that shed light on existing community assets and opportunities
the City can continue to build upon and support through redevelopment
efforts.

Eastside Business Development Research and Survey: In an effort to determine potential for business development and leadership
capacity among the businesses along the Boulder Highway Corridor, the
Community Relations Unit of the Henderson Police Department and the
Redevelopment Agency have partnered to perform research on the priorities of
businesses along Boulder Highway and opportunities for the City to
facilitate business development, crime prevention and reinvestment along the
Boulder Highway Corridor. Based on preliminary survey results of 40
businesses, Community Relations and the Redevelopment Agency are planning a
business stakeholder event in June 2010 to respond to survey input and
assess interest in business leadership development opportunities.
