In support of the Public Works' Department's Purpose Statement to provide safe, integrated public buildings and community infrastructure for existing and future needs, the work of the 205 employees of the Public Works department touches the lives of residents and visitors daily by providing for the construction and maintenance of city municipal facilities, management of public rights-of-way, the operations and maintenance of city streets, storm drains, and traffic signals. Public Works also provides routine maintenance, fueling, and repairs to all City vehicles. Public Works develops and designs capital infrastructure for streets and storm drainage and provides engineering and technical services to both public and private capital projects.
