This section of our website is devoted to providing you with all you'll need to know about becoming a police officer for the Henderson Police Department.

Some History about our Department:

The City of Henderson Police Department began in 1953 with just seven officers and a borrowed car from the Clark County Sheriff's Department to patrol the city. But as the City has grown so has the Department. While the Department started off needing to scrounge some resources, it has developed into one the most technologically advanced police department in the country.

The Department in 2003 became the one of the very few local police agencies in the country to have a searchable palm print database to add to the fingerprint database. Two latent print examiners have already discovered numerous hits on palm prints to help resolve crimes.

The history of the City of Henderson Police Department is rich with people that care about their community and serving their neighbors. The Department uses technology to make the City safer, but it is the men and women of the City of Henderson Police Department that are the heart of the agency. It is the men and women of the Department that create the rich tradition.
