Weldon W. Parker
On July 8, 1953, Weldon W. Parker was sworn in as Chief of Police for the Henderson Police Department. Parker served as a police officer in Herrin, Illinois, and, was that department’s chief for eight years. Parker worked with the Clark County Sheriff’s Department for two years and worked as a guard at the Titanium plant. Parker was the owner/operator of Yellow Cab Taxi for four years prior to being named Chief. Parker served for only a month until the Henderson City Council hired a permanent police chief.
